Hello my name is Yelena! I am & have always been a loud, outspoken, progressive & deeply ambitious woman! I also happen to be a survivor of the troubled teen industry & I lived in the shelter system! I have comorbid mental health conditions for which I was institutionalized at the age of 16. It took me a VERY long time to get where I am today. Lots of therapy & soul searching. I have & will continue to be a loud advocate for not only TTI survivors, but marginalized communities all encompassing. I have been outspoken & using my platforms to advocate as much as I can, but definitely need a larger platform or connections to continue my mission to advocate for my community in helping pass protective legislation etc. I moved to LA a couple years ago with 50$ & a suitcase & navigated my way through the shelter system to get to where I am now. I am privileged enough now (not financially haha) to have connections & ideas on how to help create systemic change! I have entered into a competition to walk a runway show for a nonprofit organization that benefits SA survivors (Rise now is the org) ! I have made it to the 5th round of 9! I am not famous, I live in government housing, I dropped out of school at 15, I am deeply neurodivergent, first generation American, queer etc. All the odds are stacked against me, but I am determined to win to represent my community TTI survivors, but also just LOUD & outspoken women on the runway! I refuse to be bought out. I stand up for what matters most at all costs. I am NOT interested in the prize money whatsoever honestly. Money comes & goes. Making younger me proud however, that is priceless. I want my life to have been used for good. It would mean absolutely more than words can describe to have everyone’s support on my mission! I will have my competition page linked! I would deeply appreciate any & all support no matter how small! There is an option to vote for FREE ! Or you can donate votes proceeds of which go directly to charity! Any words of encouragement are DEEPLY appreciated as well! I am doing my best to make baby me proud!
