I’m 57 and first fleet descendant on my father’s side. He worked on the snowy mountains scheme and migrants were brought in to assist. I went to school with many different nationalities. We had so much fun and were all friends (still are too). Where did it go so wrong? Assimilation?!

I mean I get the assimilation part, but if you really think about it, then most of these immigrants are second generation now, and the ones coming in atm are first generation, proper assimilation takes time if that makes sense
