If it shares the same “active ingredient” - it’ll do the same job too. A 50p paracetamol will do the same job as a £4 brand. Follow for more tips to save money 🙂👆🏻

To make it a simple as possible, PL relates to the active ingredient which does pay a major role in the drug but the characteristics of the drug can differ majorly, another example is 2 companies selling a drug labelled “paracetamol” can have different PL numbers because the active ingredient is different, for the viewers just do a little more research buying drugs

Ok so 1 The PL number is one of worst kept secrets you dont even need it the listed ingredients give thst away. 2: Money Saving Experts launched a nationwide information campaign in 2016 across tv online etc highlighting this practice not just same products in different brands but the same products in with different prices in the SAME BRAND. Sudafed, Nurofen etc use the same thing in Migraine, Period Pain, Back Pain, Tension Headache etc all different prices. And then own brand Asda tesco boots etc Migraine, Period Pain, Back Pain, Tension Headache all the same. They have been fined and prosecuted BUT INLY IN AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺.. Why the UK Eu and USA are still allowing it the mind boggles

Is there an app or website that records these PL numbers and shows us alternative cheaper brands and where to buy them? I'm getting 22p paracetamol from B&M whilst other stores (even store brand) are 88p+ for the same 16 blisters, if not and someone makes this app lemme know I'll help contribute.

easier just to look at the main ingredients. All cold and flu, is just parcetomol, +/-caffine and a decongestant usually phenylephrine.

It's been the same for years with multiple products. big brands make their own premium and then supermarket own products which cost less cereals, bread, biscuits, soups, beans, soft drinks, coffee, tea etc all the same. the list goes on and on. the manufacturer makes money either way and the supermarkets sell you it.
