Started for my kids from birth. My 5 year has over 10k and my 3 year old nearly 5k. We are doing vanguard for them. Use to put 200 for my son then split it when I had my daughter. It is not much but it something for them to start life with. If they don’t touch it at 18 I will continue to put money in for them till they r 21 just a way for them to not misuse the money.

I have been investing £200/month each in my 2 kid’s National savings accounts since they were babies. They are now young adults and have tens of thousands each… they now have more money than me as I did not save for myself😅They know about the money but have yet to ask me for the details as they prefer to leave it in my safe keeping still though they can access that if they so wish as all is in their names but I taught them the importance of financial security and they still get enough pocket money (are at university)to not need their savings and like the feeling of having a nest egg tucked away. They won’t struggle to come up with deposits on their first time buyer properties when the time comes. If you can afford to do this for your child, do it… it’s worth it.
