Why are more and more young people, even our own children, leaving the church? When they were young, they went to church with their parents, sang hymns, prayed, and listened to the Bible. But as they grow older, they become less and less willing to go. What is happening? If your heart is also hurting because your child is weak in faith, please listen until the end. First: Disappointment with the church. Some people have experienced conflict, judgement and division in the church, and have even seen leaders they once trusted fall. They begin to ask: “If Christians are like this too, then why should I still believe?” But we need to help them understand this: People’s failures do not mean God has failed. Do not give up on the God who is always faithful because of human weakness. Second: Many churches are not truly feeding people’s spiritual lives. In many places today, the pulpit speaks less and less about: repentance, the cross, holiness, the return of the Lord Jesus, God’s judgement, and the real work of the Holy Spirit. More often, people hear about: how to succeed, how to be happy, and how to achieve their dreams. But these things cannot truly transform a life. If someone goes for a long time without receiving real spiritual nourishment, they will naturally become colder in faith. The Bible says: “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4 KJV, When a person’s spiritual life is not being fed, their hunger for God will gradually fade. Third: What they need is not religion, but to truly know Christ. What parents truly need to do for their children is not simply force them to go to church. More importantly, help them know God’s Word, know Christ, know the truth, and build a genuine faith of their own before God. Do not let your children grow up simply “going to church” without ever truly knowing God. If you are also praying for your child, write: “Lord, I place my child into Your hands.” And share this message with a parent who is grieving over their child’s faith. If you long to receive true spiritual nourishment and understand God’s truth about transformed lives, breaking free from sin, and the return of the Lord Jesus, you are welcome to join our online Bible study group.
