@hinewsnow: Lala appears to have peaked in intensity earlier while passing near South Point of the Big Island. The hurricane could maintain its intensity for a few more hours, but weakening is expected by early Sunday as Lala continues to pull away from the Big Island. As of 11 p.m. Saturday, Lala’s center was located about 65 miles west of Kailua-Kona, or 130 miles south-southeast of Honolulu. Lala is moving toward the northwest near 15 miles per hour.
