Hear me out, Elsa was not always the 5th spirit, maybe there was a 5th spirit before her, but they used their powers for bad rather than good, so the other spirits kicked her out, or locked her away, and she’s finally found her way back, and now she’s gonna go after Elsa, aswell as the other spirits, and arendalle. Because I love the theory of their aunt, but she has never been introduced, and considering it’s a movie aimed towards children I don’t think they would add someone like that, as. It would be confusing for the kids watching.

My theory is that the trolls took her away because she had very strong powers that caused the whole world to turn into ice, and maybe Elsa and Anna's parents regret it, and maybe Elsa and Anna's mother summoned her to go back home, and she probably wasn't chosen as the 5th element because the Forbidden Forest already knew who the 5th element would be.

Or another theory I have, that is Elsa, just in a personified form, let me explain. I believe it’s Elsa’s evil from built up years taking form, because in the first movie, remember the trolls said she needed to control her powers, otherwise fear would become her enemy, what if the trolls literally meant that. And in the first movie, when Elsa created the big storm, maybe she created her like she did Olaf and the giant snow monster. That would also explain why her and the villain share similar traits, the walk, the colors, but look very closely at the colors we do see, it’s the exact same colors the trolls used to show her what would happen if her powers were used for evil. So yea idk if that’s a good theory or not but.
