Hiii please dont take any meds that make you drowsy until you are IN the air cruising. Nothing worse than popping a sleep aid or an ambien and then finding out youre going back to the gate to deplane for some stupid reason and now youve gotta stay awake and function.

I’m a flight attendant and I do a lot of long-haul flying on my days off to just enjoy my benefits. Most people focus on the travel pillow, but what really gets people is not having any lower lumbar support. Even if you don’t have back problems. The way you’re sitting in these Seeds put a lot of strain on your lower back and hips. You don’t need to buy something separate, you can even just roll up a jacket from your carry on, just wedge it into your lower back. You need to also have something that’s gonna keep your knee from spreading open while trying to sleep, you naturally try and correct this by tenting up your hip flexors or your thighs, which makes it harder to sleep. So even just having a travel blanket tucked around your body/under your legs to support them works wonders. Same thing with your arms, when you’re trying to fall asleep and your arms are just flopping down, your body tries to stop that and keep waking up. You are going to be dehydrated. The air in these planes is so dry. So yes, be sure you have water. But bring electrolyte packets. That’s what you actually need. Bring an eye mask, and if you can get your hands on the facemasks that have the water inserts in them, I got them when I was in South Korea, but you can order a different ones online. That way while you’re sleeping if your mouth starts to open a little bit, or a lot, you’re not drying out your mouth like crazy. Compression socks, eye mask, and your favorite food and snacks. Break up your flight into one or two hour chunks. So instead of thinking oh my God I have 16 hours left, you make the decision to clean out your camera roll for an hour. Read a book for an hour. Listen to a specific podcast for an hour etc. Keep track of the flight time and 30 minutes to an hour before landing, going and use the restroom. Don’t wait until they’re doing final checks. If you can’t get up to stretch or get circulation going you can still do it in your seat and you should make sure that you’re doing something for such a long flight

I travel for work. Stay hydrated. Compression socks. Wear pants with tight ankles so they arent dragging on the dirty wet bathroom floor. Take off makeup after boarding. Keep a change of clothes in your carry on. Pack a little necessities pouch with meds, ear buds, disinfecting wipes, etc. Invest in a good Neck pillow.

Someone said tape an inventory list or chart etc to the outside of your luggage because it will deter international flight workers from stealing your stuff is they know you have an itemized list

no idea if the science backs but I read somewhere if you stay up for 24 hours your body resets easier on a new time zone. do it every time I go overseas and assimilate so much faster than my friends. when you get there - no naps, do not go to bed until people do there no matter how long you’ve been awake. I follow this religiously !!

Don’t sit in economy, please do not do a skincare routine in that germ infested tube, don’t eat salty snacks and hydrate with electrolytes 24 hours before your flight, not only during the flight. Choose the aisle seat bc if you have to pee and they are sleeping you aren’t getting out, plus you can get up to move your legs a bit whenever you want.
