in the UK that is a big no. we have to ring for an ambulance, we are not allowed to move someone if they can't move themselves

This is not how you do manual handling first off all you have to get them checked over to make sure they done no damage to them selfs once all ok you then get a hoist an then use the sling to hook up onto the hoist then it will lift them up an put in chair our into bed if they want then just check them

Head to toe assessment. If fall unwitnessed and they hit their head or unable to inform you, Do Not move the patient and call 999 immediately. Check if on blood thinners. If you have green from clinician to lift them, ask the patient if they can do it, if not, use lifting equipment with 2 people

You can't even use the hoist. The proper equipment when someone is on the floor and can't get up, even with minimal support, for example, assist with a chair it's raiser chair, and Hoover jack. Hoisting from the floor was banned a long time ago.

Omg so much wrong with this, slings should only be used either a hoist for safe movement for both patient and staff members😡😡😡😡

thts drag lifting which isn't aloud unless it an emergency. and your supose to check for injures before moving them and ring medical trained staff be for moving especially if thy hit there head and on blood thinners

Nope. First and foremost you have to check the status of the patient, especially if you didn't how the fall went and/or they can't explain it very well themselves (due to dementia for example). Ask them if anything hurts or have them do small movements to see if they show pain. If back or neck seems to be hurt you do not move them and you don't let them move. Put blankets beneath them, between the body and floor, get them a pillow, a blanket on top and contract ems, on call nurse. You will get sued if you worsen an injured back or neck.n
