First of all, love your jammies, and Syd truly was one of a kind. 💔 As far as dance, Molly was in competition from kindergarten 1st grade (I can’t remember 🫣) through her junior year of high school. It’s a huge sacrifice for a family in terms of both time and money, but it taught her so many valuable life lessons - discipline, commitment, perseverance, teamwork... Those are lessons that have stayed with her long after the dancing ended, and for that, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. 💜

kellie, I couldn't agree more about letting kids have weekends off. every dat this summer my daughter has to be at the school by 7:50 am for cross country. It made me sad she couldn't sleep in.

I hear you. Our 2 boys play travel hockey…. Their tournaments are our vacation 🙃 which is wild but we have fun and the family is together. So many great memories🩷 but it’s a lifestyle for sure.

Sports etc is SO much! My girls do club soccer and we were given the hardest time for missing a tournament…OUTSIDE in New England in February because we already had a family vacation planned for months! I love sports but let the kids be kids too!!!

My daughter was in cheer for years and had Saturday practices, holiday practices, we have had to cancel vacations but she loved it. Our son is the same with football but really loves it. If Kylie loves it I say let her do it. Team sports teach so much! And if it doesn’t work you can always leave the sport once the season/commitment is over.

As a sports mom and a coaches wife i agree! No school should be no sports on breaks but that definitely seems to be the opposite! As a coaches wife all vacations have to be planned around coaching

You are not crazy! If she loves it and wants to do it, it will be worth it. My daughter started competition dance at 8 yrs old and is now entering her senior year. Although we’ve made a ton of sacrifices and missed out on a lot of things because of dance, watching her do what she loves on that stage and making core memories with our dance family was definitely worth it! I may have complained about the cost, the commitment, and the chaos but I will miss every moment once it’s over. 💕

My daughter did competitive dance from grade 4-12 in NJ, danced in college and was teaching and choreographing in NJ last year and this summer. Her best friends ever are from dance. They become family. While expensive, so worth it.

As a dancer that retired to try other things - it is way too much. And the comp teams are crazy because they’ll take anyone but lower level them, they’re in it for the money. But coming out of that and looking back, make family the priority. Dance will only go so far 🫶🏼
