If you feel burning, itching, or leakage: • Change the barrier now • Check the adhesive side to find the leak path • If your stoma nurse has shown you how, place a thin bead of ostomy paste on the leaking side of the ring to fill the gap — not around the whole opening • Remeasure the opening • Seek stoma-nurse advice if the seal will not last 24 hours, or skin remains painful, wet, or damaged Ostomy paste fills gaps; it is not glue.
