@ericfixes: More proof that you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, especially when it comes to over-the-counter gaming computers. The builder knows that people will buy the PC based on appearance alone. Let’s diagnose this one. #gaming #computer #repair
Not even “diagnosing” anything, just parts swapping to see what works..

Guys, get a motherboard with error lights please…you’ll never have to deal with this.

not terrible, but this motherboard have a bios flashback function, so you should flash new bios before removing mobo. Also you don't have to remove the battery to clear cmos, 99% of mobos have dedicated pins for that (you just short them with a screwdriver)

Wouldnt the lowest hanging fruit be to unplug the HDMI from the card and run the onboard video

"i removed the graphics card to see if it would boot with integrated graphics. that didnt work so I replaced the graphics card with a different card"

I like how you kept testing gpu combinations, when onboard wouldn't even work 🙄

I am just a simple auto tech, but this seems like firing the parts cannon until you get lucky by process of elimination. Is this how diagnostics are really done?

Do you know what POST means? Its not referring to "posting something" to a monitor. Its an acronym that means "power on self test".

P.O.S.T doesn’t need a monitor… while it may be a symptom. Not posting and not displaying are not the same thing.

also, that's an AMD CPU. did you wait a full 10 minutes for it to post the first time after you took out the CMOS battery?

Computer engineer here. Your take on a slow AIO destroying the motherboard baffles me; I don’t know of any correlation there, but I’d be glad to learn. Also, you should try another RAM slot; you relied on #2 in all tests, introducing another confounding variable

Was doing so good until the last 15 seconds the aio won’t kill a motherboard

what did the pump do?,i dont understand that part, how would the pump kill the motherboard and not the cpu?,how is the pump the problem if pc wasn't over heating

First thing you should do is try different HDMI ports on the GPU. One will work because you haven't update the divers on the GPU yet for all the HDMI or DP to function

Thomas Linzi :
If the integrated graphics aren't working, that should rule out the GPU being the issue.
