Facts: Allen Morris Brickell Park is owned by The Allen Morris Company, a real estate development firm. Following a multi-year legal battle and subsequent settlement with the City of Miami over deed violations, ownership of the former public park reverted back to the developer.

There is more to the story. This park was donated long long ago to the city of Miami. Only if they don’t develop it, the city allowed a neighboring property to build on it to expand their restaurant and then the Developer within his rights took the property back.

The city is at fault because they violated the covenant with the owners to keep that area as a park for perpetuity but the city allowed building on the other side of flatiron. Had they not violated the coventant, that area would still be a park. Take it to the commissioners it’s their fault
