জীবনের একটা পর্যায়ে এসে যখন একটু থমকে দাঁড়ালাম, আর ক্লান্ত চোখে পেছনের দীর্ঘ পথটার দিকে ফিরে তাকালাম তখন বুকের ভেতরটা এক অদ্ভুত শূন্যতায় হাহাকার করে উঠল। উপলব্ধি করলাম, জীবনের এই দীর্ঘ সফরে আমি আসলে একটাও সঠিক সিদ্ধান্ত নিতে পারিনি। আবেগের বশে হোক কিংবা পরিস্থিতির চাপে পড়ে, প্রতিটা মোড়ে আমি ভুল মানুষগুলোকে বিশ্বাস করেছি, ভুল পথগুলোকে নিজের মনে করে হেঁটেছি। আজ যেখানে এসে দাঁড়িয়েছি, সেখানে কোনো প্রাপ্তি নেই, কোনো সান্ত্বনা নেই আছে শুধু এক বুক অনুশোচনা আর ভুল সিদ্ধান্তের ভারী মাশুল। সময় তো অনেক বয়ে গেছে, কিন্তু ফেলে আসা সেই ভুলগুলোর ক্ষত আজো প্রতিদিন নতুন করে রক্তক্ষরণ ঘটায়, যা সংশোধনের কোনো উপায় আর আমার হাতে অবশিষ্ট নেই।
