This almost happened to me when I was 18, I had a bad habit of hopping in cars for rides because my job was so far away, I had to be there 5am. What saved me is ironically one of the guys in the vehicle I went to school with and for the life of me I don't know how I remembered his name. He wasn't even popular in school he sat quietly in the back like a loner. When I called out his name all 5 boys turned and looked at each other and ended up dropping me off safely at work. And oddly I couldn't remember his name months after and even today. Who knows what they would have did to me but some divine protection.
