Isn’t it fascinating how natural talents have that EXACT impact? My youngest struggled when what he wanted to do didn’t come AS easily. Because he picked up new skills so effortlessly, he had never “had to” learn how to knuckle down for an extended time. So we worked on “embracing the suck” and it made a huge difference. Thankfully, I had gone through it and could offer direction, but it’s a GREAT topic to address further (especially with kids who get/got that “gifted and talented” label early on). Expectations can really impact that comfort with a learning curve. 🖤 Thanks for the post!
