A quick reminder to give your off-hand some love today! 💃 This is just a short snippet from my Showgirl Stance class on @EDL Studios where there are already multiple hours worth of content available to dive into right now, with much more coming soon. ​Practicing movements on both sides of your body and with your non-dominant limbs is SO important. It is what builds true fluidity and solid muscle memory for core anchors like your showgirl stance, allowing you to comfortably fall back into position no matter where your choreography takes you! ​It's also just important to practice movement in general because it is very unlikely your acts will ever be completely still. (Though, if you have somehow figured out how to get paid heaps of money to stand completely frozen for 4 to 5 minutes straight please let me know your secrets 😅) I also just wanted to share a quick note that ​seeing the response to the launch of this new platform over the last few days has been completely surreal. Burlesque can be a tricky industry to gauge interest when you are trying something brand new, but you have all proven to me yet again just how huge the interest in this art form really is. Yet another reminder that people all around the world LOVE burlesque. They want to learn it, watch it performed, and support the artists doing it.
