Audit” isn’t a legal power given to them. It’s simply a label they use for what they’re doing; calling it an audit doesn’t give them any special authority. If the purpose is genuinely to educate or test police and public bodies on the law, why do these videos so often concentrate on the same filming-in-public arguments, rather than the much wider range of legislation, regulations and local byelaws that can actually apply?
