If you tried to adjust a sagging door hinge, you might think tightening the screws is all it takes. But if the door is still rubbing against the frame, the problem is likely the hinge pin itself.
When a heavy door hangs for a long time, the weight pulls on the top hinge, causing the knuckles to misalign. If you just force a shim or bend the frame, the door won't close evenly.
Instead, removing the top pin and slightly adjusting the hinge knuckles back into place realigns the pivot point. Once you slide the pin back in, the gap around the door becomes uniform, allowing it to open and close smoothly without dragging.
