@thedoulamsw: 12 Hour ED Shift as an MSW 🤍 | Medical Social Worker Come spend 12 hours in the ED with me. If you’re an MSW, you already know there is no such thing as knowing exactly how your shift is going to go. 😂 Especially working in a trauma center. Some days you’re moving from one situation to the next without even realizing how many hours have passed. Then suddenly you’re looking at the clock like… how is it already time to go home? I really do love medical social work, though. It’s busy, unpredictable, and definitely not for everyone, but I can’t imagine doing anything else right now. This is a little look into MSW life, medical social work, hospital social work, and what working as an Emergency Department social worker can actually look like.
