A retaining wall might work for sure, but it’s got to have a solid base in the ability to hold back the dirt. Do you know what caused the slide? (Compaction, bad fill, sinkhole, erosion)

We are dealing with the same thing. Company quoted us $60K. We are doing g it for $5k ourselves. Rebar and a concrete retaining wall. Lots of work but cheaper to do it ourselves, and yes…… we do know what we’re doing. 🤣

Before anything gets done to it at all I'd start driving rebar as deep as humanly possible over the entire hillside and get a concrete retaining wall as close to the walkway as I could, nothing about it is going to be fun or cheap but you'll definitely lose more ground how it is
