In September 2024, I befriended a guy because of Welcome to the nhk. He struggled with social anxiety, didn't go to school, and never went outside. (He also struggled with other things that are also mentioned in the anime) At that time, I also got my depression diagnosis. All he did was talk me down to feel better about himself. I always stayed, which may be dumb, but I knew that deep down, I was just as messed up as him, i just let those things stay in my thoughts. I started going out with him multiple times last summer to help him overcome his fears. We had periods where we wouldn’t talk for weeks, or I blocked him because he made me really sad. Now he has changed his life, but he says he 'can’t act differently around me'. Please, guys, change before trying to love someone. We could’ve been perfect
