The biggest difference to me is that Rhaenyra really tries to be a good mom. Visenya raised a whole jerk, and only had one, so her attention wasn’t divided amongst siblings. 😂

not gonna lie this is the sloppy writing I think of, when they say sloppy writing. Visenya as iconic as she is - she helped usurped the throne for her horrible son over someone they assumed to be weak, exactly what greens do and think of Rhaenyra. That just makes no sense to me

I like her character so much and I think others dont like her as much because they arent appreciating all the layers she has and more just looking at the top layer. Here is a list of the layers: 1.Gender envy of men while trying to craft her womanhood but I also feel like it may go to actual gender dysphoria due to her saying she may have body of a woman but a mind of a king. 2. Her trying to make due in a sexist society by using as much of her privilege as possible for her to attempt to live to her actual desires. 3. Her desires then being corrupted by the prophecy her father told her so she feels like she has to throw away what she truly wants and to do what is needed of her to save the world which in a way she is right. 4. Her constant struggle to balance how to rule both firmly but morally until now. 5. I think her personality is just so good but feel like people are getting too much in the mindset of empire lovers and treating throne like its actually a good thing and from that mindset if course she is horrible.

It was also easier for Visenya and her siblings to conquer Westeros, because their foes, unlike Rhaenyra's, didn't have dragons.
