Majority of my dementia patients in care homes are the happiest. Dementia definitely affects the families a lot more, but putting them in a place of safety is much kinder than leaving them to live alone 🥹

majority of staff in care homes mistreat dementia patients so my parents will be stuck with me until they pass 💪

I work in care homes and have for years. none of my loved ones will be going into one of them. And it's not even the staff half the time- it's the way they are run. rushed, institutionalised, profit over care. I hate what care has become.

I took my dad in with me cos he said this over and over. 2 and a half years he lived with me. It nearly killed me off 😭. Was the hardest thing I have ever done. Yes I had help in the end with carers but my god it was so hard. Dad hating me, swinging for me. But I would do it again in a heartbeat. His last vocal words to me was ‘thank you’ 😢 xx

I work in a care home, and I’ve always said if you can look after them at home then please do..they do hate it in there
