@howshebright: I had a thought while listening to a conversation about money, relationships, and why women become less likely to have children as their income rises. And then my mind went backward. What if money didn’t simply become a tool men used to gain access to women? What if marriage, reproduction, and the exchange of women between families helped shape the very idea of value in the first place?
