@anna_louisa_at_home: When’s the last time you deep cleaned your washing machine? 👀 I had requests to add this one into the procrastination series and it was another job I’d been putting off, so naturally I had to time it and see how long it actually takes ⏱️ Here’s how I deep cleaned mine: ✨1. Clean the filter Check your machine’s instructions for where the filter is, then open it carefully and remove any debris. Have a towel or shallow container ready as water may come out. 🧼 2. Clean the detergent drawer Remove the drawer and give it a thorough scrub, paying particular attention to any build-up around the compartments. I just used washing up liquid for mine as I didn’t have much build up but to tackle mould you could use white vinegar or something stronger like astonish mould and mildew spray. 🫧 3. Clean the drum and door seal Scrub the drum. Washing up liquid will be fine for this. Then, pull back the rubber seal and remove any hair, fluff or grime that’s collected inside. Wipe all the way around the seal. Again if mould has built up here, astonish mould and mildew spray is a good option. 🔥 4. Run a hot maintenance wash Add your washing-machine cleaner (or whatever your machine manufacturer recommends) I didn’t have one so I used soda crystals, and run the hottest/appropriate cleaning cycle for your machine. 🌬️ 5. Let it dry Once it’s finished, leave the door and detergent drawer open so everything can properly air out. And that’s it. Another job we’d built up in our heads that only took 14 minutes and 11 seconds.
