I realized that I was grieving something that didn't actually exist

35 and yes, at some point when I kept seeing a pattern in my friend’s and family’s relationships I realized I wasn’t missing out - I’m holding out for something better and not settling like some of them have.

It’s easier in your 30s than it is in your 40s. After a decade+ of doing everything alone it wears on you.

I am blessed to be friends with a group of women who were all single through their 20’s and all met their partners in their mid thirties. All of their problems were not solved over night when they met their bfs lol! They have the same insecurity securities, wounds, etc that we all do. It’s such a good reminder that romantic relationships are one slim facet of your life and not a silver bullet to cure unhappiness

I’m 35 and single. I don’t even want a man necessarily I just wish I had single friends. I have a lot of friends but not single and it’s isolating

For what it’s worth, you’re cute- you should have zero trouble finding someone. 😊

I think the only downside of being single is you can’t split housing costs, especially if you’re in a big expensive city and also older. But being single is great! I can wake up on the weekend and decide what I want to do on a whim.

Serious question here, I’m curious: how many times a month on average do you get asked out?

Yes to this!! I was someone who was in a long term relationship and still felt lonely. That’s what prompted me to leave at 29. I’m choosing to sit with my singleness knowing that relationships don’t solve that, especially if it’s with the wrong person.

I have simply stopped wanting it💕. The hope just hurts too much. I can accept it will not happen and just live. I can live in the limbo.

Great perspective. I’d also say the freedom being single gives women is incredible but I think too many women are afraid to take advantage of it. The grass is def not greener, relationships can be so beautiful but are a lot of work, patience and tests.

Honestly I made more friends where I did activities/ experienced life. Why is it the most? I felt sad being single was genuinely when I just like had friendships were all we did was catch up and a large part of those types of friendships were always centered around talking about dating and as someone who wasn’t dating, who really doesn’t Day often I felt like it was like I was as sounding board almost even if I talked about other things outside of dating.

In today’s era, if you find that mad 🧙 love, consider it as the biggest blessing from Allah. Because in today’s era, ❤️is not just a 4-letter word people don’t understand the struggle ❤️has to go through before reaching its destination, if lucky 🤞
