You are assigned to it because you were employed for it, and you will be paid based on your job description.....so if you are in a role, then you're there because all things were assessed and you were chosen. So for example, if hammering is involved in a work that is part of your job description, then it is believed that you can do it. I won't say more...

In my experience I’ve had jobs assigned to me considering all the factors you mentioned. Honestly I believe everyone has their own strengths at the work place, you can be assigned to do a task on site that involves heavy tools and machinery if you’ve shown or proven that you can do it best or well, likewise in the workshop too, if intellectually you’re inclined you’ll be assigned because it is assumed that you have the competence to. When it comes to us females I believe the scales are still not balanced yet on this particular issue because of so many factors. So in most cases we’re asked to sit and watch the men do the heavy work but it’s only those who believe they can do what the men do that push to be there with them. Gradually we’ll get there.

When you say "What men can do, a woman can do BETTER" then you should walk the talk. you cannot say you "You can do BETTER" and give excuse of your physicality and strength. You are the same people calling for equality but forgetting equality has no excuse and knows no gender. Will you consider you are a woman in the same job and should be paid less because of your physicality and risk or you would say ua equal and should be treated or paid as such?

I love to see ladies in male dominated fields 🔥. Women have skills and abilities men do no have and vice versa, it simply means men and women are not the same but both are equally important in whatever roles they play. It's refreshing to see a woman actually in the field talk about issues ladies who have never put on safety boots on before make noise about .

In Engineering, specifically mechanical, physical strength is mostly used when assigning tasks. "what a man can do a woman can do better", doesn't apply in the mechanical field.
