Hey, I'm one of those haves making the transition to a have not. Started back when I lost my job during covid. Decided to take the time and savings I had to go back to school for something I was passionate about and at the time was a good steady field. Computer Technology. Since graduating in 2024 I've had no luck whatsoever in the field. I've been steadily collecting certifications and fighting for hours at my job that I got while I was a student. The whole time I'm falling further behind. I don't make nearly enough to pay my bills and make student loan payments. When I was in my early 20s shit was easy. I had an easy full time job that paid decently, had my own apartment, and could afford to eat out, take little trips, and just generally have a comfortable life. Now I'm worse off with a degree and certifications than I was 10 years ago working a dead end job with no training.

Even when I’m a have again, I’m going to spend like a have not. I don’t feel like stability is a thing anymore unfortunately.

As a lifetime having, I am moving into the have not category after being laid off and unable to find another job. I know so many other people in the same boat. It’s brutal out here.

Sold our big house (5,600 sq. ft.) now in the ten percent (haves). Think we will be renter (both in our 70’s) for life and don’t want the responsibility of maintaining a house just want to spend our time cruising and traveling.

I've been capped at "32" hours by my employer for over a year, because they don't want to pay me the full, full time rate. I guess I get extra time with my family.. and at least I get benefits but I'm the sole breadwinner and we're barely scraping by.
