@catholicdioceseofaguleri: Today, His Lordship, Most Rev. Denis Chidi Isizoh, paid a pastoral visit to his Cathedral Parish, St. Joseph’s Cathedral, Aguleri. The entire parish community, represented by the Cathedral Administrator, Very Rev. Fr. Clement Aghadinuno, warmly welcomed His Lordship with joy and gratitude. The Bishop explained three important reasons for his pastoral visits to parishes: 1. Inspection: The Bishop visits to have a firsthand understanding of the pastoral life of the parish, to see its activities and structures, and to identify areas that need attention and improvement. 2. Appreciation: He also visits to appreciate and encourage the Parish Priest, religious and lay faithful for their dedication, sacrifices and commitment to the growth of the Church and the service of God’s people. 3. Empowerment: The pastoral visit is also an opportunity to strengthen and empower the parish community, encouraging both clergy and lay faithful to become more committed to their responsibilities and the mission of the Church. A major highlight of the celebration was the administration of the Sacrament of Confirmation to 55 children, strengthening them in their Catholic faith and making them courageous ambassadors of Christ. His Lordship encouraged the newly confirmed to remain faithful to the teachings of Christ, to live exemplary Christian lives, and to boldly witness to their faith wherever they find themselves. During the Holy Mass, the parish also expressed its heartfelt appreciation to priests and a religious sister who have faithfully assisted in the Cathedral Parish and are now leaving the Cathedral to their new places of assignment. They are: Rev. Fr. Anthony Chinedu Dinyelu Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Mocha Rev. Fr. JohnPaul Oraefo Sr. Basilia Alisa, IHM The parish community thanked them for their sacrifice, dedication and pastoral service, and prayed that the Lord would continue to bless and reward them abundantly. After the Holy Mass, everyone proceeded to the reception ground, where the parishioners warmly entertained His Lordship. In an atmosphere of joy, fellowship and gratitude, the parish community also presented gifts to the Bishop as a token of their love, appreciation and warm welcome. May the Lord continue to strengthen our Bishop, bless our priests, religious and lay faithful, and keep our Cathedral Parish united in faith and service. Amen
