These golden beauties aren’t just pretty—they’re a powerhouse of medicinal goodness. We grow them right here on the farm, and I’m thrilled to tell you 5 ways to use calendula to keep yourself feeling as fine as a June morning. So grab a mason jar of sweet tea, and let’s dive in! 🌱 Soothing Skin Salve – Oh honey, if your skin’s acting up—whether it’s scrapes, burns, or irritation—calendula’s your friend. We make a salve by infusing those bright petals into jojoba oil, then blending it with beeswax. Spread it on, and it’s like a warm hug for your skin, calming it down and helping it heal fast. Calming Tea – When life’s got you wound up tighter than a fiddle string, steep a handful of dried calendula flowers in hot water. This tea has a gentle, earthy flavor and will settle your stomach—perfect for tummy troubles or just sipping to relax after a long day tending the farm. Wound Wash – Out on the farm, we’re always getting little cuts or scrapes. Brew a strong calendula tea, let it cool, and use it to rinse those wounds. It’s got natural antiseptic properties that keep infection at bay while encouraging your skin to heal up nicely. Glowing Face Toner – Want that fresh-from-the-field glow? I infuse calendula into witch hazel or apple cider vinegar, and y’all, it’s a wonder. Dab it on with a cotton ball to tone your skin, reduce redness, or calm a breakout. It’s like bottling sunshine for your face! Achy Muscle Oil – After hauling in veggies or working the garden, my muscles sure do complain. I mix calendula-infused oil with a few drops of peppermint or lavender essential oil, rub it into those sore spots, and oh my, it’s like the flowers are saying, “Rest easy, darlin’.” It helps with inflammation and gets me back to farming in no time. These flowers are a blessing from the good Lord’s earth, and I think they’ll do you just as much good as they do us. Now, go grab some and let nature work its magic! ✨ Want more medicinal herb lessons? Grab my beginner guide to herbs at gracewalkfarm.org
