Yeah I think there’s a big difference between queer baiting (the showrunners purposefully making queer subtext to entice viewers, knowing full well they have no intention of ever doing so) and censorship (they are 100% intended to be queer but they’re censored and will face legal ramifications if done)

GUYS I phrased it wrong but I am talking about recent mainstream movies with deliberate bromance stories that are obviously made to get female audience shipping for popularity so please dont come telling me if it’s queercoded or queerbaited if you don’t even know which movies I’m referring to… I simply wanted to point out the irony how straight cis male directors make millions with these movies while actual BL writers (mostly young women) get huge fines and even jail time

It's not queerbaiting, it's queercoding. It's something creatives who aren't allowed to include explicit queer themes in their works do. A lot of Disney Villians are queercoded, especially Ursula, Scar, and Hades. I would also argue Timon and Puumba are as well. Thats just a few quick examples, and I'm sure there are better ones.
