Ive been dressing authentically my entire life, in high school I got called a chav, in sixth form the art students thought i looked distinct, from about uni onwards through adulthood ive been called the stereotypical hairy nerd and a homeless person (that was a snobby ex). All from the same sorts of outfits. I'm so confused some people think im cool, many think im basic nerd male, and some react badly to my appearance. And now ive signed on to be a ghost tour guide and want to dress appropriately for it and think it will be cool but have no idea where to start because my fashion has been 't shirt and cargo shorts' for most of my life

This may be a personal issue, but I hate when people dress “trendy” and the outfit doesn’t make sense as a whole. Like, where is this person going wearing a military style jacket with tiny frilly bloomer shorts? Who wears long jorts that go past the knee and pairs that with ballet flats? Yes people are allowed freedom of expression and to create new fashion styles, but I can’t get what type of person they are other than “follows every micro trend and doesn’t know what the individual pieces of clothing are meant to convey”

I hate the categorization of "cool girl" or "hot girl" or "it girl" so instead my Pinterest is not "cool girl" clothing boards cause I know what I like. I've got boards like "fairy grunge subway witch" "soft alt, but femme" "punk, but femme" "masc" "nonconforming" "maximalism" "bunny"
