I’ve been a little MIA….
I’ve been a foster parent for 9 years and to over a dozen children. I continue to say ‘yes’ despite the heartbreak and grief waiting on the other side that comes with giving children the connection & safety they deserve. Here’s to preparing for a child with no notice, the night before the first day of school because children deserve our ‘yes’ even when it’s inconvenient because it’s to not fault of their own. #fostermom #fostercare #thisisfostercare

Remember the part that you said you didn’t feel qualified? You were incredibly underestimating yourself. 🫶🏼

Seeing this video has convinced me that I need to look into Fostering Parenting. I feel a call. I know I could make a difference with the love I have to give and the love inside my home. But how do you let them go? That’s the part I feel like I’d struggle with although I know reunification or what’s best is what’s best for them.

I have been a silent follower for years but something about this post really compelled me to thank you for the ways in which you go above and beyond for every child you come into contact with. While I cannot imagine what she has been through, I have no doubt her life got exponentially calmer and safer the moment she met you. You both are truly deserving of every good thing in life ❤️

This is my first time coming across your videos. I’m a former foster kid and what you’re doing here is incredible. As heartbreaking as this journey is for you, I can tell you were made for it. It is so rare to find a foster parent who goes above and beyond with ensuring comfort, safety and thought for the kids being placed in your home ( and on the fly). From someone that experienced the trauma of this, I can assure you each of these kids will remember you forever. That’s an incredible impact and I hope you truly know how much good you’re doing. All my love and gratitude sent to you and your family.

Usually I sit in both silence and awe watching your videos but this one, this one made me want to say how truly blessed the world is to have you and your husband in it. I can not even begin to imagine how hard that little girls life has been and to know she is now both safe and loved has restored my faith in humanity’s ability for compassion

Why don’t the workers just use Google Translate. It’s free.

My husband started school not knowing a word of English. He is now working for an engineering firm. This was not because of his parents, that’s all I say. So please don’t underestimate yourself. Children can feel love and support, they don’t need to hear it. Hang in there and thank you for all you do 💕💕💕

Amazing. I’m baffled as to why her foster case manager couldn’t use Google Translate?

You are truly the best mama ever. I’m crying typing this. I was placed into a foster home when I was in first grade. It was the of the night when we arrived to the foster home. Everyone there was older than me and I had to start a new school with less than a month of school left. Your heart is huge mama. You make me want to do more to help others. ♥️

You are OVERQUALIFIED for her placement. You jumped in and did exactly what you needed to do to make her feel welcomed. Cared for. Loved. But most importantly SAFE. You gave her grace to make a decision for the following day (which hey we all need that) she was set up for success! You are beautifully and wonderfully made Jeanne !! May your coffee cup be overly caffeinated and runneth over ♥️✝️

You have me crying at 12:36 am watching this, I just graduated high school this past June with no friends and barely any family. When you wrote to the teachers that they might be the first safe person in months they have seen really hit me, mainly because for me school was a place to feel safe, seen, loved when I couldn’t in my own home. Yes I have parents but even as an almost 19 year old not all mothers and fathers are mom and dad. So truly Thank you for being such a light in this little girls life, and everyone around you 💕

could someone explain the school supplies list? the anti bac wipes, classroom donation etc... is this what each child is required to take, or is it what the school needs help with?

As someone raised in foster care, I want to thank you for the level of care you give to each and every child that walks into your home. It makes the world of a difference in a situation that to most, is unfathomable. It’s clear you were made for this and meant to be in each of their lives and I’m glad to see that a system so broken still has some light shining through in the form of such loving and devoted foster parents.
