@forgotten.feelings_: It’s funny how people assume that if you’re attractive, outgoing, and know how to make people laugh, you must have seventeen people in your phone fighting for your attention. Meanwhile, the reality is that dating multiple people sounds like a full-time administrative position you never applied for. Like what do you mean I have to remember five different people’s schedules, favorite foods, childhood stories, and which one I told about my weird coworker? Absolutely not. I don’t want a roster. I barely want to text back ONE person. I don’t want mysterious talking stages and strategic response times. I don’t want to wonder whether we’re exclusive after three months of acting married. I want the comfort of knowing exactly who my person is and being able to pour all that affection into one relationship. Let everybody else think there’s a waiting list. There isn’t. The position is actually closed indefinitely until one specific man comes along who makes dating him feel less exhausting than being single. Then congratulations, sir. You have unlocked the extremely exclusive privilege of hearing every thought that enters my head, being sent twelve TikToks before breakfast, and having a grown woman suddenly become a baby because she wants attention.
