Common forms include: Vaginal candidiasis: itching, irritation, redness, and thick white discharge Oral thrush: white patches, soreness, or burning in the mouth Skin candidiasis: red, itchy rash in warm, moist skin folds Invasive candidiasis: a serious bloodstream or organ infection, mainly affecting hospitalized or immunocompromised people Risk factors include recent antibiotic use, diabetes, pregnancy, weakened immunity, and prolonged use of corticosteroids. 🩺 Treatment depends on the location and severity and may involve antifungal medications such as azoles or, for certain serious infections, echinocandins. ⚠️ Recurrent or persistent symptoms should be evaluated because conditions such as bacterial vaginosis and sexually transmitted infections can cause similar symptoms. #Candidiasis #Candida #YeastInfection #Thrush #VaginalHealth
