@agewellwithdrstep: I just had my first big reunion with my residency friends since I stopped drinking a year and a half ago. 🌴🥥 I’ll be honest, I was nervous. Tropical vibes, dinners, drinks flowing, games at night… I wondered if I’d still feel like “me.” But what I found surprised me: I laughed just as much, danced just as hard, and felt even more connected, because I was fully present. The friendships didn’t change. The fun didn’t change. I did. And honestly? I like this version better. 💫✨ If you’ve been worried that saying no to alcohol means saying no to joy, trust me, it doesn’t. living

Drinking is voluntary poison ingestion. I am where you were. It needs to go. Even just the little I do of it. I’m 53 and alcohol hits differently.

Good on you. Choosing health isn’t always an easy task socially. And frankly I find many sober people to be incredibly present and comfortable in their own skin.

Same, sister. I stopped January 2025. I’ll have the occasional beer but the wine, margaritas, whiskey started making me sick.
