Cadmium followed the same pattern, quantified only in the same 3 conventional products at about 1/20th the concentration. Arsenic and mercury were not quantified in any sample. The rest of the panel came back clean: 0 of 48 phthalate results quantified, 0 of 160 residual solvents detected, 0 of 16 glyphosate + AMPA results detected. One qualification, because it matters: this measures metal content in the product, not exposure to the person using it. A 2026 FDA risk assessment of 11 tampon products found negligible toxicological concern from metals released during use.
