@themovienama_: can't believe doomsday is the last time we see this version of cherik together . . In the X-Men film franchise, Charles Xavier (Professor X) and Erik Lehnsherr (Magneto) share a complex relationship that serves as the narrative and emotional backbone of the entire series. Initially brought together by their shared mutant identity, their bond develops into a deep, brotherly friendship rooted in mutual respect and shared trauma. However, their alliance fractures due to fundamentally opposing ideologies. Driven by optimism and privilege, Charles envisions a future of peaceful co-existence with humanity, establishing a school to guide young mutants. Conversely, Erik, a Holocaust survivor shaped by human cruelty, believes humanity will always fear and destroy what it cannot control, leading him to adopt a militant, survival-of-the-fittest doctrine. Brought to life by the chemistry of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen as older adversaries, and later anchored by James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender in the prequel films, Charles and Erik function as two sides of the same coin. Their ongoing chess matches serve as a powerful metaphor for their endless intellectual debate, ensuring that even when fighting on opposite sides of a war, they remain bound by an unbreakable tragic affection. . #xmen #professorx #magneto #cherik #fyp
