🚨 NOTHING LIKE A LITTLE CANNING CHAOS TO KEEP THINGS INTERESTING. 😂🍅 I was in the middle of canning up a batch of tomatoes for homemade tomato sauce, feeling pretty good about life… until my water started boiling. Then I noticed WATER. EVERYWHERE. 😳 Turns out my canning pot had developed a hole from rust, and once that water started boiling, it was dripping all over my stove. 😩 Thankfully, I caught it quickly and transferred everything into a different pot with a dish cloth on the bottom to keep the jars from directly touching the bottom. Was it stressful? Absolutely. Did I question all of my life choices for a minute? Also yes. 😂 But that’s homesteading sometimes. Things don’t always go according to plan, and you just have to problem-solve and keep going. Because I already know that when we’re in the middle of winter and the garden is long gone, opening a jar of this homemade tomato sauce is going to make all of this chaos worth it. 🍅❤️ There is something SO satisfying about pulling food off the shelf that you grew, preserved, and put away months earlier.
