@quingable: VanLife w/ a cat: Why I Don’t Have AC & how I regulate my van's temps👇🏻   After 5+ years on the road with cats, here’s what I recommend if you have pets + no AC:   • Air circulation: I have 2 MaxxAir fans + 2 windows that create a strong cross breeze and push hot air out.   • Separate the cab: Use a partition or thick curtain to block off the hottest part of the vehicle.   • Fully insulate your van: A properly insulated cargo van regulates temperature MUCH better than a regular vehicle.   • Invest in insulated window covers: Mine are from VanMade Gear and make a huge difference.   • Travel for the weather: This is the biggest one. I generally stay where temps are 85°F or below. Baja in winter, mountains in summer OR if I snowboard in the winter, I have a heater.   • Choose a cargo van: Fewer windows = less direct sunlight + easier temperature control.   • Leave during heat waves: Move somewhere cooler or get a hotel. It’s not worth the risk. • Always provide plenty of water.   • Leave your contact info on the dash so someone can reach you if they’re concerned.   Why no AC? It requires a LOT of power, and because I travel for the weather, I personally rarely need it.   If you live somewhere that stays HOT or can regularly plug into shore power, I absolutely recommend AC.   And obviously: I would NEVER put Atlas in danger.
