So my question is why would going to AA or NA and so on help if during the meeting others are talking about using and mentioning a lot of things that would trigger someone or even trigger the speaker by talking about it.

Positive emotions and experiences can also be a trigger. I am feeling good, I know how to feel even better....

I gave up coffee for 8 years because I always smoked with my coffee. Tea doesn't cause the craving even tho I did sometimes drink tea while smoking 🤷‍♀️If I spend time with people whom I smoked with --even if they aren't smoking... oh, so hard to get past that craving!

I’m curious on why I sometimes feel high after eating very spicy foods? Why does that happen?

My dad, a drug and alcohol counselor, always said the bulk of treating people for addiction was actually treating what they were trying to use the drug to deal with

Question on the study: for someone with an addiction, could rating how much they want to use the substance also itself trigger cravings? So, in the control group of people who have quit and were just told to think about unrelated words and pictures, but then asked them to rate how much they wanted use the substance - is it possible that group might have also been having a higher rate of craving because that was the topic they were being asked about?

I grew up in a high demand religion that frowned on most smeggs, including "self help." i was taught it was an addiction, and many of the thing you said resonate with me regarding that. I wonder if theres a link in the brain between smeggs and draughaughaughgggzzz

I get the smoking thing you said, i have been going through a lot lately and have wanted to use dope again, fortunately I cut all ties from when I got clean 18 years ago, so it feels impossible to get the heroin anymore. I think the most important is to avoid ties to people who use/sale dope

Yea relapsing after a little while (when you don’t really think about your drug anymore) feels kinda like your beginning the problem all over again.

What do you think about flavored inhalers without nicotine, just flavor? Do they actually work to quit menthol/nicotine? Are they safe? Is there any science behind it? Just saw your menthol vid

I love the X Files!! 💜 Have you done a video specifically on shows and movies as triggers. I watched Breaking Bad while pregnant and it was kind of gnarly and I didn’t really understand why at the time.

I quit smoking about a year ago for the 3rd time. Relapsed a few months ago because of a bad depression, and it helped me feel something and shut my mind off 🫠

Have you talked at all about how legal action against other people (other people who are using or dealers) effect people? Like how street sweeps arresting all the dealers in an area can actually increase ODs?
