as a previous labor and delivery nurse, to all the moms out there looking at this post...PLEASE know that this is an INCREDIBLY LUCKY EXPERIENCE. Look up the mother/infant mortality rates 100 years ago and Moore, before advanced obstetrician care, advanced medicine and immunizations. It was crazy high. Women lost so much and suffered so much. So did babies. Also remember, we only know what she is telling us. We don't know the whole story. There's a huge percentage based on history and evidence that there had to have been a complication along the way. And if there wasn't, it's an example of a wonderful experience by one mother out of billions that have given birth. Do not look to one mother's experience or to the experiences of mothers who have had the births you hoped for. Look to statistics and to the truth. Other than the fact that she hopefully gave birth without any complications and that her baby has no complications that we will make itself known at some point (which it very well could, without screening prior to birth), this is a Cinderella story. There are so many issues, so many complications, so many adverse situations that could and will come about my women choosing to give birth with no prenatal care and no obstetric guidance, I couldn't begin to list them all. But like I said, look to history. You cannot argue with history statistics. And before you asked me to provide them for you, Google measure your friend. It will take you to the American Academy of pediatrics and obstetrics, etc. If you are one of those people who believe we are millions of us healthcare professionals in some kind of conspiracy to keep women in the hospital or in controlled and medical birthing environments, none of you have ever sat through a science course in your life and you are insulting all of the women in history who have died and who've lost their babies because they didn't have access to modern medical care...Please...go touch grass.

Y’all that’re mad about HER choice to have this baby the way SHE chose to because of “risks” Do y’all not realize that life is literally one big risk..? Get mad about the statistics of dying driving a car, or drowning in a lake… like.. those are still choices that are made despite the risk… It’s just weird for everyone to be mad that she made a choice that she wanted.
