@your_favorite_contractor: This is my favorite starter shingle because it comes in one full piece so you don't have to worry about stair stepping or staggering your seams. I also like that the entire backing has an adhesive on it, so it will also adhere to your drip edge and your underlayment which also prevents any water damage from possibly happening. You always want to do your major preparations first like adding ice and water and synthetic underlayment. But I love this product also and make sure that you run your starter shingles up your rake. no over hang. we dont use it cause we do overhang. the material is to flimsy n will stick to the side of the drip edge.

I used that on my Dads house when I shingled it years ago and over the years it has lifted and buckled in my opinion it’s garbage.
