i thought bullying was mainly amongst grad students. how disappointing that faculty engage in it, too. just a terrible environment and full of pathetic people hungering for opportunities to be cruel

After my masters program I lost all interest in academia because of how toxic it is. It’s like the system is created to burn everyone out and leave every little energy to do anything real and meaningful

i’m so sorry that happened but it’s great you’re transitioning to something you still love! bullying in academia is such an odd concept to wrap my head around; i feel like passion is such a big part of it and spending your effort to bullying people who also share that passion is odd. do you think you would ever return to being a professor?
