@beautybykatguthealth: Everyone's chasing protein right now and for good reason. It supports muscle, keeps you full, matters even more as our hormones shift in our 40s and 50s. But here's what I'm seeing: women so focused on hitting a protein number that they're blowing past their calorie needs to get there. That "high protein" granola? 10g of protein, 45g of carbs, loaded with sugar. The protein coffee, the protein bars, the protein snacks stacked on top of real meals… it adds up fast. You end up eating more food overall just to chase one macro. Here's your permission slip: don't eat something just to get protein. If you don't even like it, if it doesn't fill you up, you'll be reaching for something else 20 minutes later and now you've eaten twice. Protein is a tool, not the goal. The goal is feeling good, balanced energy, a body that works with you. If you're eating 500 extra calories a day to hit a protein target you read about online, the target is working against you. If you want help getting this right for YOUR body, my Perimenopause Plate breaks it all down—how to balance protein, calories, and the foods that actually support you through this shift. Comment “RESET” and I’ll send you the details. A few things that actually help: - Anchor protein to meals you're already eating, don't add extra eating occasions - Choose whole-food protein first (eggs, Greek yogurt, chicken, fish, legumes) it's more filling per calorie than processed "protein-added" products - Watch the "protein health halo" a label saying high protein doesn't mean low calorie - Figure out roughly what YOUR body needs rather than copying a number from a fitness influencer The point of protein was never to eat more. It was to eat smarter. Here's a closing paragraph with the fiber CTA: And while we're talking about what actually fills you up don't sleep on fiber. It's the piece almost everyone's missing. Fiber keeps you full, steadies your blood sugar, supports digestion, and helps your body handle those hormonal shifts often doing the job we're all trying to force protein to do alone. Most women in perimenopause aren't getting nearly enough. If you want to fix that, comment "FIBER" and I'll send you my fave kind and my Fiber Fix Guide to get you started. #guthealth #wellnessjourney #NervousSystemSupport #perimenopausalwomen #hysterectomyrecovery

My Life :
I use the “add a zero” rule. If it has 20 grams of protein it can’t be more than 200 calories. 30 grams… 300 calories and so on. I basically eat grilled chicken or fish or shellfish and a veggie or salad. That’s my whole life. 😂
