My idea for Cars 4 is this: At first, Lightning McQueen is coaching Cruz Ramirez, but he eventually gets bored of just coaching and misses the track. He decides to make a comeback, gets heavily modified to become much faster, and challenges Jackson Storm. During the race, pushing too hard to beat Storm, McQueen loses traction and suffers a massive crash—reminiscent of the legendary accidents of Hudson Hornet and The King. Later, at another crucial race for the Piston Cup, Storm shows up and actually carries McQueen, pushing him across the finish line together to show respect. Afterward, McQueen gets invited to the World Grand Prix, where he faces a brand-new, ultra-modern hypercar instead of Francesco Bernoulli. Just when it looks like McQueen is about to lose, he pulls off a brilliant drift from right to left, slams the gas pedal, and wins the World Grand Prix by a narrow margin! In the end, he builds his own racing academy, becomes friends with Storm, and starts coaching him."
