when I had to have my nexplanon removed, they did a tiny bit of local anesthetic, in a regular office, my doctor was DIGGING, and I am not exaggerating, DIGGING in my arm with her finger, trying to feel where it was, ended up having to put her knee on the chair in order to get it out. I was crying, and of course "breathing through it" and she looked at me and said "I could take some breathing tips from you" and im just sitting in the chair wondering why we're never taken seriously about the amounts of pain we are in. now footnote I have a HIGH pain tolerance, but that was literally body horror disguised as medical care.
