I think being an older first time mom is the best option. Ideally, you lived through your best developmental years and had a good time, learned your likes and dislikes, formed an identity, mature and find a stable partner, you’ve been able to see how other people parent and build up savings. I’m very excited to be a mom someday when I can give my child everything they deserve. Some people have just as much desire and capabilities as younger parents but that’s just not for me.

I’m 23, my parents didn’t have me until they were 34 & 37 and I’m the oldest of two. Genuinely, don’t worry about having kids “later” in life. Take care of your health, prioritize traveling & exploring & learning & growing and everything in between, have a strong marital foundation, ensure you’ve chased all the dreams you have access to. Save up, do your best, and settle down when you’re ready. Most of my friends have parents in the same age group as mine, & we all turned out to be pretty incredible people! My parents are still a BLAST & were wild well into their adult years; no regrets 💗
