I think she was thrown out the window before the kids were killed and she saw through the window while in and out of consciousness and her brain messed up the memories because of trauma

What kind of man wouldn’t search for the kids BEFORE going outside? He comes home. Searches. Sees her from the bedroom windows, would you then panic and look for kids? Who stands outside, waits for cops to arrive THEN thinks of kids?
